“The Defiant Ones” é um documentário/série dirigido por Allen Hughes que segue as histórias de Jimmy Iovine e Dr. Dre, um, filho de um estivador de Brooklyn, o outro, vindo direto de Compton. Contendo entrevistas com os próprios homens e os artistas que eles influenciaram, a série de quatro partes acompanha sua improvável parceria e surpreendentes papéis principais em uma cadeia de eventos transformadores na cultura contemporânea.
Hughes mostra como décadas de desafios e determinação ajudaram o Jimmy Iovine e Dr. Dre a construir alguns impérios, fazer uma série de sonhos americanos se tornarem realidade e transformar duas crianças de rua americanas de diferentes bairros difíceis em uma força global a ser contada.
