Uma das maiores estrelas do rap fez com que mais de 230 formandos das Escolas Comunitárias de Flint ficassem surpresos na terça-feira à noite no Dort Event Center com apenas o som de sua voz.
Um pouco antes dos formandos atravessarem o palco para aplaudirem os pais e amigos, uma foto do Eminem apareceu em quatro grandes telas acima do piso da arena.
“E ai classe de 2017? Sou o Eminem. Eu só quero dizer parabéns aos formandos de Flint Northwestern, Flint Southwestern e Flint Accelerated Learning Academy,” em voz alta. “Cara, parabéns pelo esforço de todos vocês. Vocês merecerem esse momento.”
Após o reconhecimento do Eminem, os formandos viram que não iam receber apenas seus diplomas. A caridade do rapper também providenciaria fones de ouvido Beats by Dre para cada formando.
Betty Davis, 18 anos, de Flint Northwestern, ficou surpresa depois de ficar sabendo sobre os fones de ouvido sendo distribuídos a todos os formandos.
“Eu pensei que ele iria dar seu discurso pelo alto falante e só isso,” disse ela. “Agradeço muito ao Eminem por ter feito o que ele fez. Ele não precisava e o fato de ele poder ver tanto potencial em Flint e nos alunos de Flint, só faz o presente valer muito mais a pena guardar.”
Eminem e sua fundação do Marshall Mathers Foundation entraram em contato com o distrito escolar sobre a idéia, de acordo com o superintendente das escolas de Flint, Bilal Tawwab.
“Eu o elogio por ser muito genuíno, na verdade não estou querendo atenção, febre da mídia, somente fazendo algo para as crianças,” disse Tawwab. “Estamos muito entusiasmados por poder surpreendê-los nesta noite (com o presente).”
Essa é a segunda vez que o Eminem e sua fundação fazem doações às escolas de Flint. Em agosto de 2016 ele doou mais de 240 mochilas cheias de materiais escolares aos alunos da Freeman Elementary.
